What Marketing Automation Systems Means To You As An Internet Marketer

By Daphne Bowen

When you were marketing, in the old days, you spent a lot of time writing notes on paper with a pen or pencil. You sent drawings, through the mail, drawn with a pencil or India ink. You spent quite a bit of time on the phone and do not even think about the time you spent, online, at the post office. That is why you can breathe a sigh of relief when you hear about all of the marketing automation systems that are available, now.

The computer, of course, took us from the world of writing things or typing individual letters. It was able to mail merge so that individual labels, for mail, could be printed out easily. That, at least, saved some time from all of that needed for the entire marketing effort. The mail still had to go out and bad addresses may never be discovered. Not only that, but responses, either way, might take days or weeks.

The Internet is what makes all of the automation possible. The World Wide Web made it possible to market to the entire world and made it easier to accomplish. The acquisition of potential clients and the ability to build a relationship with them is in the offing. This is what the Internet was originally designed for, so you can use to your benefit, properly.

Since things are offered for sale on websites or blogs, they must have a lot of information to convince people to learn about you and make a decision to buy. This means some of the automated processes you have access to will help you populate your websites with content. The software that does this can be set up and it will scour already published material and select some for inclusion on your site.

The major automated system that is critical for relationship building is an auto responder. Many marketers will not consider setting up a campaign without one. It is a piece of computer code that installs a capture form on your site. For value received, such as a free report or article, a visitor will enter their email address. This belongs to that list you hear about and this auto responder sends emails to this list on a regular schedule without anything else coming from you.

This email list is your pipeline to them in a relationship building way. This system takes an entire set of emails and delivers them, one at a time, as scheduled, so they can begin to trust you enough to buy what you recommend. This is that relationship building that delivers value as long as you do not try to force anything on them.

Other automatic systems can submit articles to various article directories and to other blogs allowing this. Article marketing has become and is still very effective as a low cost tool to bring people to your site to get captured by the auto responder. Software that can submit advertising pieces to free and paid advertising sites will help you get noticed as well.

Automated systems mean you spend less time on mundane and repetitive things. It means setting something up and letting it work for you. It means spending more time with your family and the next launch that will help you grow your bank account. These systems mean a way to connect and relate and inform and counsel and, yes, sell in ways you would not have been able to back when all you had was a pen and paper.
