Juice, water and sport drinks are a good way of hydrating. Large amounts of the hydration fluids must be consumed. Applying milk on the burnt part should accompany hydration. The injury is covered with a protein film which helps in easing pain when milk is applied.

Besides applying milk to the skin, one can also apply cream that has aloe vera in it. Aloe vera soothes and moisturizes skin that is sunburnt. In place of aloe vera products, one can also use products that contain lidocaine, which can also sooth the skin. Additional products one can use for the skin include 1% hydrocortisone cream and cool compress that contains Burow solution.

The other remedy is taking a cool shower or bath. It helps cool the skin. When taking a shower, relevant natural bath therapies may also be used. These include baking soda, chamomile oil or lavender, apple cider vinegar, and oatmeal bath. Soaps and perfumes must be avoided. Medics highly advise against them when one is sunburnt.

Sometimes the skin is burnt to the point that it begins to peel off. When this is the case, peeling it further is highly discouraged. Instead professionals recommend that it be given time to heal on its own. Excess sunburn can also result into blisters. Expert advice in such cases is that they be left undisturbed and be covered.

When a person is in pain they are supposed to take some medicines to help with that. A wide range of painkillers are available which one may take. Ibuprofen and naproxen are examples of painkillers that one way take. Besides relieving pain they also help with inflammation. One can get then easier from drug stores.
